Abusing British Tolerance

Manu Tuilagi is a Samoan rugby player who arrived in the United Kingdom in 2004 as a visitor. In June 2010, he faced deportation after it emerged that he had entered the country on a holiday visa six years earlier and had stayed on illegally. After an appeal, he was later granted indefinite leave to remain. It means he was allowed to stay in the UK permanently which also leads to British nationality. It gave him permission to work as well as play rugby for the England team. The British tolerance is as such.

Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain and the other Commonwealth realms. It was built in 1703 as a private residence for the Duke of Buckingham. In 1762, King George had it as his private residence. In 1837, it became Queen Victoria's official resident.

Private Tuition and Private Unis
It has been in the news that children of at least 40 percent of UK households receive private tuition in order to fulfill their academic potentials. It is a big increase compared to last year which was 31 percent. As far as we know it was a habit of most Asian parents to give their children extra tuition support away from school to achieve better grades.

Dogs love story

I am really relieved. Until now, only the human race had fundamental rights etc. - they always talked about their rights. Now they are talking more about our rights. I am really grateful to the humans. I'm thinking of framing our marriage certificate and hanging it in our cage. We shouldn't lose it. You might need it to claim the widows and orphans pension and benefits when I am no more. You have a right as a government servant for those. But keep in mind, if you marry again you will lose all the benefits.

Recently, a controversial situation arose in London when as a measure of personal and property safety, people started installing Close Circuit Television cameras in their houses and gardens. There is no problem in one installing a viewing camera in a garden. The problem is that they also can monitor the next door neighbours activities, sunbathing, parties and relaxation poses etc.

Did SAS kill Princess Diana?

It has been 16 years since the death of Princess Diana in a tunnel in Paris. But time to time, various theories emerge as to the cause of her death. This time it has been alleged that Diana and her boy friend Dodi were killed by a member of the British military. The Scotland Yard is assessing the credibility of the allegation that came out of the court martial of SAS sniper Danny Nightingale who was convicted on a firearm matter. The allegation was contained in a letter from the parents-in-law of soldier N, Sgt Nightingale's former housemate, which was sent to the SAS's commanding officer in September 2011.

Kataragama in Wales

In the winter in 1987, we made a plan to go to a Kataragama dewalaya about 240 miles west from London. As I haven't been there before, a friend gave me directions and said "when you cross the long bridge on the M4 motorway, call me, I will direct you from there".

Opposition matters

My grandmother was an UNPer. I think my mother became too one following her. As my father was a government servant, we never had a chance to get to know his political views. All our siblings except the elder brother supported the UNP when we were children.
