Thavisha’s parents, brother arrive in London - Killing of Sri Lankan student
The father, mother and brother of Thavisha Lakindu Peiris, the Sri Lankan student killed in Sheffield arrived in London last week.
Sarath Mahinda Peiris, Mrs. Sudarama Narangoda and Pramod Chethaka Peiris were met by British Police officials at the Heathrow airport in London and taken to Sheffield.
The family was taken to the morgue and were badly shaken on seeing Thavisha’s body, a relative said.
Sri Express understands that parents had been advised not to talk to the media.
The family will, for the first time, see the alleged killers of their loved one when they attend the hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on November 15.
Shamraze Khan (25) of Southey Crescent, Sheffield, and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were charged with the murder.
Thavisha Peiris (25) arrived in the UK in 2011 and completed a degree course in software engineering at Hallem University in Sheffield. He was working at Domino’s Pizza in Sheffield temporarily under a Post Study Work Visa at the time of the slaying.
