William Hague Looks Forward to CHOGM in Colombo
Published: 08 Oct 2013
Foreign Secretary, William Hague, visited the CFSL Conference Stand interacting with the Executive Committee and listened with interest on how British Sri Lankans are actively working in certain marginal seats to win the 2015 General Election.
As CFSL promotes conservatism and supports Sri Lanka, he explained that he was looking forward to visiting Colombo in November for CHOGM 2013 and said that Sri Lanka is beautiful country with tremendous opportunities and is making positive progress since the ending of internal conflicts in 2009.
CFSL's Executive Committee used the opportunity to have meetings with Alistair Burt (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State), Jeremy Hunt (Secretary of State for Health), Lord Andrew Feldman (Party Chairman), Theresa Villiers ((Secretary of State for Northern Ireland), Eric Pickles (Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government), Dominic Grieve (Attorney General), William Hague (Foreign Secretary) and Alok Sharma (Party Vice Chairman). Several other MPs, MEPs and Local Councillors also exchanged views on the current developments in Sri Lanka and the role that the various diaspora communities continue to play to support the Party in Marginal Electorates.
