HE Dr Chris Nonis with Nobel Laureate Professor Amartya Sen

Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1998 for his work in welfare economics and  has made contributions to welfare economics, social choice theory, economic and social justice, economic theories of famines, and indices of the measure of well-being of citizens of developing countries.

Dr Chris Nonis and Professor Amartya Sen also both sit on the International Advisory Council of Asia House, a leading centre for expertise on Asia in London.
