President Rajapaksa opens Madulla Multi-Purpose Trade Centre in Bibile

President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that the patriotic people of Uva have sacrificed immensely for the freedom and the sovereignty of the country placing the country above everything else. He also requested the people in the Uva province as they have always stood by the government, to grant a resounding victory for the UPFA in the forthcoming Provincial Council election to continue the development activities in the post conflict situation. Two new Deputy Ministers sworn in before the President.

Two more Indian origin Tamil parliamentarians took oaths before President Mahinda Rajapaksa as deputy ministers at Temple Trees this morning (21 August). Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga was present at the occasion. Already Sri Lankan cabinet has 67 members and with these two new appointments bring up the number of deputy ministers to 42.
