Commonwealth Secretariat to handle media accreditation for CHOGM

The Commonwealth Secretariat will processes requests for accreditation from the international media to cover the forthcoming Commonwealth Heads Of Governments Meeting (CHOGM) in Sri Lanka and issue accreditation certificates to bona fide press representatives, Communications & Public Affairs Director of the Secretariat Richard Uku said.

Those accredited should apply for entry visas, a process that is handled by the Sri Lankan Immigration authorities, he said.

"Accreditation requests from journalists based in Sri Lanka are handled entirely by the Sri Lankan authorities" he told Sri Express.

Uku reiterated that the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Sri Lankan Government are working collaboratively towards a successful CHOGM.
