Diyawanna Vesak Zone

His Excellency the President Mahinda Rajapaksa graced the Vesak Zone at Diyawannawa in the eve of the first day of Vesak celebrations yesterday (24th May).

Secretary Defence and Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa was also present at the Vesak Zone.

Diyawanna vesak zone was organized according to the directives of venerable Elle Gunawansa Thero.

A Bakthi Gee Programme also took place at the location where a large number of devotees gathered to enjoy a set of charm and attractive Bakthi Gee. Secretary Defence also mingled with those present and spent some time with them.

Government Ministers, Commander of the Army, Inspector General of Police and a large number of people were present at the occasion.

Bauddhaloka Vesak Zone

Secretary Defence and Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa also graced the Vesak Zone at Bauddhaloka Mawatha.

The Vesak Zone was opened by First Lady Shiranthi Wickramasinghe Rajapaksa and the zone comprised of Bakthi Gee, Vesak Lanterns and a Maha Bath Dansala.

The Bauddhaloka Vesak Zone is a Brainchild of the Secretary Defence and it was organized according to the directives of the Secretary Defence.

The President, additional secretaries of Ministry of Defence, service Commanders of three forces, Inspector General of Police, chairpersons of the Seva Vanitha Units of Mod, Tri Forces and Police and a large number of people were also present at the Vesak Zone.
